Greetings from Rwanda

Dear Moses,

Greetings from Rwanda! I hope this email finds you well and that you and your family are preparing for a happy, healthy holiday season.

As we close out 2018, I wanted to touch base to say THANK YOU. From all of us here in the field, thank you for your passion for gorillas and your commitment to conservation.

You are part of a unique and select group of individuals – you have been to Africa to see some of the world’s great wildlife up close and in person! I am especially grateful that you took time out of your trip to visit our Karisoke Research Center to see first-hand what it takes to protect endangered gorillas every single day.

As you probably learned during your visit, conservation takes a community! Daily gorilla protection is a monumental effort that takes coordinated teams of trackers, anti-poaching patrols, researchers, scientists, and other personnel; it also involves partnerships with local governments and other conservation organizations.

Here’s the thing though, Moses: none of this important work would be possible without friends like you. Yes, conservation starts with you – someone who shares our belief in gorilla conservation and cares about the fate of the world’s majestic wildlife.

That’s why I hope you’ll consider making a year-end investment in the Fossey Fund’s critical mission today.

Saving gorillas is important, but the impact of your support is even more profound. When you give to the Fossey Fund, you support a proven, holistic model of conservation that helps people, communities, forests, and whole ecosystems so that we can all thrive together.

As you make your year-end giving plans, thank you in advance for considering the Fossey Fund. Together, we can continue building a better, brighter, more sustainable future that works for all of us.

Best wishes for the new year,
Felix Ndagijimana
Director, Rwanda Programs & Karisoke Research Center
