More than 100 MPs from across the political spectrum have voiced their support for the news media industry, citing its vital work providing the public with trusted news and information during the coronavirus outbreak, and calling for support for the sector. <\/p>\n

Many of the MPs have called on Government to take steps to protect the industry – such as extending business rates relief to news media publishers and launching a public health ad campaign in local and national titles – as it battles steep declines in ad revenue caused by the outbreak. <\/p>\n

The News Media Association is continuously updating a dossier of all the quotes<\/a> which it is using as part of its call for urgent Government support for the industry.  <\/p>\n

The industry’s #ThereWithYou campaign has seen local titles across the country team up to offer local businesses additional support during the crisis. <\/p>\n
