More speakers have been unveiled for the Society of Editors Conference in London at which Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham will speak.<\/p>\n
A panel of top journalists will include Paul Henderson, deputy editor of the Daily Mirror and former chief investigative reporter at the Daily Mail where he investigated multiple political and international scandals.<\/p>\n
Jane Bradley, a Pulitzer Prize finalist with her work as investigations correspondent at BuzzFeed News and Tom Bristow, head of Archant Investigations, whose work at the Eastern Daily Press has led to criminal convictions.<\/p>\n
Claire Newell, investigations editor at The Telegraph, will be joining the panel – her recent investigative work on Sir Philip Green highlighted a #MeToo scandal of the business world.<\/p>\n
The panel will be tasked with answering the question; can investigative journalism survive and thrive in the modern digital newsroom and its pressures?<\/p>\n
The 20th anniversary event at Stationers’ Hall will mark two decades of the Society’s campaigning work on behalf of media freedom as well as looking at present day challenges and the future for the industry.<\/p>\n
The conference already boasts a strong list of speakers including the Information Commissioner the editors of The Mail on Sunday, Ted Verity; The Daily Mirror, Alison Phillips; and The Daily Telegraph, Chris Evans<\/p>\n
The conference takes place on 12 November. The day’s conference will be followed by a gala dinner to celebrate the Society’s 20th anniversary.<\/p>\n
