The Court of Protection pilot, opening up the court to the press and public, has been extended until summer next year.<\/p>\n

The transparency pilot started in January and will now  continue until 31 August 2017, in line with the forthcoming case management pilot.<\/p>\n

The extension will allow to pilot to be further monitored as more cases go through it and allow the changes in practice to fully bed in.<\/p>\n

The NMA and members strongly advocated opening up the Court of Protection, have given feedback to the Ministry of Justice and welcomed this extension.<\/p>\n

Amendments to the Practice Direction extending the end date and detaching the pilot order as an annex have now been published online<\/a>. The latest pilot order is now published as a separate document on the same page.<\/p>\n
